Helping Build the New Perot Museum

With support from Dallas’ philanthropic community, the Perot Museum opened a new building in December 2012. With its bold architectural design, it quickly became a fixture in its new location in Dallas’ Victory Park. The project also sparked a renewed commitment to inspire minds and improve community achievement, giving rise to new initiatives that promote science learning. NexPoint Philanthropies supported the project by issuing a challenge grant, matching donations to help complete the capital campaign that was launched to build the new museum. Since then, NexPoint Philanthropies has contributed additional funding to support ongoing educational programming, special exhibitions, and community engagement initiatives.
In 2014, NexPoint Philanthropies began supporting the traveling exhibitions, starting with the “The World’s Largest Dinosaurs” exhibition, which educated audiences on the gigantic sauropods that once roamed the earth, drawing nearly 200,000 visitors to the museum. Since then, NexPoint Philanthropies has served as the presenting sponsor for the many captivating exhibitions that have come through the museum. NexPoint Philanthropies' support has enabled the Perot to offer bilingual traveling exhibits, with programming in both English and Spanish. These exhibits have helped increase community access to the North Texas Hispanic population.
